The Pacific Northwest

I cannot recall how I decided to take a trip to the Pacific Northwest.  I do recall that we were very fortunate as a family because somehow it worked out that all three of my children were able to make this trip. As I look back now at all 16 of the locations we visited on this trip, I cannot believe how much we saw and did in only 7 days!  We drove 1,366 miles while we were there! Even though we did so much, I did not feel at all rushed at the time.  The key to me is to have a plan when you make a trip like this.  I think that is the difference between a “beach” vacation and an “adventure” type vacation.  At different times in life both types of vacations are great.  Lately as you see on this site, I lean a lot more towards the adventure type of trip.  I attribute some of that preference to my enjoyment of capturing pictures of the beauty of our world.  One way to make trips not feel too rushed is to have a general game plan of where you want to go before getting there.  I generally split my days up into half days and planning for those larger time intervals.

I’ll always remember our family time we had on this trip.  It also just happened to be over Father’s Day.  I know I am oversharing but I wanted to post a series of pictures in this journal entry of my family at the various stops.  I love these family pictures and remember taking and experiencing all of these times together.
