The Angel’s landing hike is very well known and not for those afraid of heights. When we visited there was still snow the trail once we reached higher elevations. At the start of the hike it was near 50 degrees (in March) at the trailhead. It became a little difficult as we made it the switchbacks area called Walter’s Wiggles. These man made back and forths that enable you to make it up to the Scout’s Lookout area were extremely slippery and covered with snow and packed ice. We watched so many people with basic tennis shoes on fall on their tail ends! No one got hurt and it was actually pretty funny as most people enjoyed a good laugh.
Brett and I stopped at Scout ‘s Lookout which is the area right before you head out to the area with the chains to continue on up to Angel’s Landing. We were not going to risk going further with the slippery snow and no spikes on our hiking shoes. The view at this point was amazing anyways. Easily one of my top hikes I have ever done!
