We ventured down south to Kings Canyon National Park and Sequoia National Park from Coarsegold where we were staying as our base for visiting Yosemite National Park. As you will see in the pictures below you start out high at the top of the canyon and work your way down to the canyon floor. Look at how small the river looks from up top. I think it is named The Roaring River and by the time we reached the bottom the road runs directly beside it. We were there in the spring and there had been very significant snow melt. The river truly was roaring! We followed the road until we made it to Zumwalt Meadows. We stopped by Grizzly Falls on the way. The falls are decent in size and with the heavy snow melt they earned their name. If you stop they are just a few hundred yards from the parking lot.
