Day 2 in Paris
This was our first stop and it was just about the right size museum to enjoy for a couple of hours in the morning. I enjoyed it – as they say “not too big and not too small – just right”. I am not knowledgeable when it comes to art but I do enjoy looking at some paintings – one thing I noted was the sheer size of some of the pieces. I seriously do not know how the artists painted on such huge canvases. Really impressive to see in person.
From the internet -> “In the centre of Paris on the banks of the Seine, opposite the Tuileries Gardens, the museum was installed in the former Orsay railway station, built for the Universal Exhibition of 1900. So the building itself could be seen as the first “work of art” in the Musee d’Orsay, which displays collections of art from the period 1848 to 1914.”
