We kept very busy the day we spent touring Seattle. We rode the mass transit train from what I think is the first station south of the city until we made it downtown.  On the way in we went past the Seattle Seahawks stadium which is now called Lumen Field. One thing I enjoy about traveling is taking a bit of the mystery or maybe it is the illusion out of places I have only seen in pictures or on television. This stadium is one of those places I have seen many time for NFL games but without the context of where it sits in the city. I think context is the word I was looking for, all of the places I finally get to visit and see in person I am then able to put in their context of their surroundings. I also am able to think of them and remember how I felt when I visited them.

We walked a good bit and looked for various stops to tour. We of course had to at least see the Pike Place Public Market and the surrounding area. I love good coffee and no offense to anyone who feels otherwise, but Starbucks is not exactly the type of coffee I like. But I had heard about the Starbucks Reserve Roastery here in Seattle and after all, this is the home of Starbucks so we put this on our list of stops. I will say – the interior is very impressive and we did enjoy taking in the massive roastery.Â
We had a beautiful 68 degree day to tour the city.Â
