The Vista house was our first stop as we adventured along the Columbia River Gorge.  It sits 733 feet above the Columbia River on the south side of the Columbia River Gorge.  As you see in some pictures below it was cloudy and gray that early in the morning.  So we ended up stopping back by later in the day when the fog had lifted for better views of this area.  I encourage you to look at the full screen picture below taken of the Vista house from a more distant view point to the West.  It gives you a good sense of the cliff it sits on overlooking the Columbia River below.  It is a museum now and was finished being built in 1918.
